Commercial Account Manager II

Location:

Anchorage, AK

Classification:

Full-time, non-exempt

Expected Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent; college degree preferred. Minimum of ten years experience in commercial insurance in brokerage environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

o   Become aware of and understand company culture so goals and objectives can be reached in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

o   Regular sessions to learn and develop position and responsibilities.

o   Perform insurance functions necessary to support the agency to include, but not limited to, processing claims, premiums, refunds, billings, file maintenance, policy changes, audits, new business & renewals.

o   Competent user of the agency management system (EPIC) or similar systems as other brokers.

o   Communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, clients, and insurance companies regarding insurance programs.

o   Good command of commercial markets

o   Review quotes obtained from markets to formulate a proposal.

o   Ability to enter data into Accord forms and carrier websites and communicate with underwriters. Resolve client-billing questions and follow up on the collection of premiums.

o   Review non-standard certificate requests from the client.

o   Complete necessary surplus line filings.

o   Initiate marketing of new & renewal business with input from Account Executive or lead Account Manager.

o   Manages the services, insurance renewal, and marketing calendar for 50-120 accounts, typically medium to large accounts, or a book revenue of $250,000 to $450,000.

o   Assists Producer, AE, or other AMs on the team with client servicing needs on other accounts.

o   Research and compile answers to client policy and coverage questions.

o   Maintain an in-depth knowledge of insurance coverages.

o   Must have a good understanding of the insurance companies for placement of coverage through the marketing process.

o   Perform a review of the client’s account to determine gaps in coverage.

o   Adheres to agency policies and procedures.

o   Experience with multiple workforce technology systems and adaptability to embrace new technology with advanced ability with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong facility with multiple technology systems and carrier websites.

o   Project management skills and experience.

o   Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with co-workers and managers.

o   Capability of effective planning and priority setting.

o   Ability to manage several complex projects while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

o   Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to Multi-Task and prioritize.

o   Strong facility with numbers and mathematical calculations. Able to research risk issues and solve problems.

o   Knowledge and application of property and casualty insurance.

o   Must possess a Property/Casualty License.

o   Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organization skills.

o   Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team participant.

o   Must have the ability to back-up Account Executive in periods of absences.

o   Has the desire to continue to learn. Takes direction well.

o   Be proficient in all aspects of agency product administration.

Employer Services Account Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

o   Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.

o   Process and facilitate new employee onboarding, including I9, W4, and direct deposit verification.

o   Coordinate and administer employee benefit programs.

o   Work on becoming proficient in multiple workforce technology areas such as benefits, onboarding, compliance, human resources, reporting, and more.

o   Troubleshoot workforce technology questions and issues with clients and employees.

o   Develop client relationships to progress the client experience for our services.
