Senior Commercial Account Manager

Reports To: Commercial Lines Manager

Primary Functions: Perform insurance support functions

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform insurance functions necessary to support the agency to include, but not limited to, processing claims, premiums, refunds, billings, file maintenance, policy changes, audits, new business & renewals.
2. Manages the insurance renewal and marketing calendar for 80-100 accounts, generally mid to larger sized accounts, or a book revenue of $450,000 over.
3. Provide technical assistance, marketing and direct account services to Account Executive or servicing team.
4. Serve as Account Executive on smaller accounts as determined by lead Account Executive/Producer.
5. Perform claim review, marketing and billing processes.
6. Initiate renewal procedures for existing accounts.
7. Experienced with a full range of insurance service and processing functions.
8. Strong command or wide range of commercial insurance coverages and markets.
9. Advanced user of agency management system (EPIC) and IR.
10. Communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, clients and insurance companies regarding insurance programs.
11. Must have a good understanding of the insurance companies for placement of coverage through the marketing process.
12. Assist with training of new Customer Service Representatives & Account Manager I & II, and assist in the duties of the Account Executive in his/her absence.
13. Perform review of the clients account to determine gaps in coverage.
14. Cross sell other insurance products offered by the agency.
15. Completes surplus lines filings.
16. Makes visits to clients as requested by producer.
17. Assists Producer/AE or other AMs on the team with client servicing needs on other accounts.
18. Responds to client and carrier questions and service needs via telephone, email or mail. Fully understands the role and functions of the commercial insurance broker.
19. Adheres to agency standards, policies and procedures.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: High school graduate or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: 5 years as a Commercial Insurance Account/Client Manager.

Experience/Skills:
Experienced in personal computer operations, including internet and Microsoft product, with advanced ability with Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong facility with multiple technology systems and carrier websites. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing. Must possess Property/ Casualty license. Minimum of ten years’ experience in commercial insurance in brokerage environments. Ability to multi-task. Possess strong customer service skills, organizational skills. Possess good reasoning abilities. Strong facility with numbers and mathematical calculations. Able to research risk issues and solve problems. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team participant. Be able to direct work to Customer Service Representative. Must have ability to back-up Account Executive in periods of absences. Works well with producers. Has a desire to continue to learn. Takes direction well. Be proficient in all aspects of agency product administration.

Commercial Account Manager II

Reports To: Commercial Lines Manager

Primary Functions: Perform insurance support functions

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform insurance functions necessary to support the agency to include, but not limited to, processing claims, premiums, refunds, billings, file maintenance, policy changes, audits, new business & renewals.
2. Strong command of a full range of commercial insurance coverages
3. Good command of commercial markets
4. Advanced user of agency management system (EPIC), IR or similar systems at other brokers.
5. Manages the insurance renewal and marketing calendar for 50-120 accounts, or a book revenue of $250,000 to $450,000.
6. Ability to enter data into Accord forms and carrier websites and communicate with underwriters.
7. Manage a full load of accounts as an Account Manager, including handling all service requests, marketing coverages, reviewing quotes, creating proposals and binding coverage.
8. Resolve client-billing questions and follow up on collection of premium.
9. Review non-standard certificate requests from the client.
10. Complete necessary surplus line filings.
11. Review list of accounts that renew in 120 day for marketing decisions.
12. Serve as Account Executive on smaller "C" accounts.
13. Communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, clients and insurance companies regarding insurance programs.
14. Must have a good understanding of the insurance companies for placement of coverage through the marketing process.
15. Assist with training of new Customer Service Representatives & Account Manager I, and assist in the duties of the Account Executive in his/her absence.
16. Assist Producer/AE or other AMs on the team with client servicing needs on other accounts.
17. Perform review of the clients account to determine gaps in coverage.
18. Cross sell other insurance products offered by the agency.
19. Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: High school graduate or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: 4 years in Commercial insurance

Experience/Skills:
Experience in personal computer operations, including internet and Microsoft product, advanced use of Word, Excel and basic use of PowerPoint. Minimum six years of experience in commercial insurance in a brokerage environment. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing. Must possess Property/Casualty license. Ability to multi-task. Possess strong customer service skills, organizational skills. Possess good reasoning abilities. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team participant. Must hold a CISR designation and is pursuing further industry designations such as the CIC, CRIS or other higher education. Be able to direct work to Customer Service Representative. Must have the ability to back-up the Account Executive in periods of absences for client contact. Be proficient in all aspects of agency product administration.
